just quickly looked up some prices, ran from high 600"s to about a grand, not as pricey as I thought. I do like the houge overmolded stocks and have put them on a few of my shotguns, and I like short bbl's 20". as I've said great for a guide for dangerous game, but a 308 or something similar is plenty for anything in fla.
Does he have some reason to want such a cannon? Is he trying to compensate for something, or just ignorant? Remionds me of a guy I knew who had gone out shooting with a bunch of us when I was stationed in Las Vegas. He shot some of our 9mm, a couple of 1911 style .45s, and a .357 revolver. Well, he just had to have a pistol, and told us he was gonna by a .44 mag. We tried to convince him to buy a 9mm or .357 for his first gun to learn to shoot, but he wouldn't listen. Next time we went shooting, about 2 weeks later, he shows up with a Ruger Redhawk .44 mag with 8 inch barrel, and 2 boxes of Silverttips, whatever the hottest load they had was at the time (1989).
He couldn't hit anything but the ground, and when he hit that it was only because of gravity. He traded it in, lost his :ahole in the deal, and ended up with a .357 S&W.
I sometimes use a 300 Win mag. and a 500 S&W to hog hunt, other times I bring a T/C black powder and a .22 mag, it just depends how I feel. Sometimes it just fun to brig out the big stuff :taz. Also is funny as hell when the guys at the check station just look at you like you have two heads.
i don't know where he got the idea that he needs this gun.i have hunted with a shotgun since i started hunting.i can't take the long shots, but it is more exciting for me to take the close up shots.tried again last nite to talk him out of that gun,but he is being hard headed, told him to look at a 30-06,if he ends up getting the 375 i told him i want to go with him when he shoots it just to see his reaction when he pulls the trigger.
I see a potentially funny youtube video in the making.
