Any trick to getting them to loosen up? These are brand new with a brand new gun. I loaded them/unloaded a couple times to try to loosen them up, but man are they stiff. It was nearly impossible to get the last few rounds to go in them
i FIGHT to get my amo in my s&w .40 and you have the same one.. so its i guess normal.. i sometimes think it cant fit the bullets but it goes.
not sure if this is recomended or not but I load em and leave em loaded, some I save as new, and like to have lots of extras, at least 4 mags per gun. I have a sigsauer 226 that I had kept mags loaded since 1984, still functioned flawlessly and easy to load, just replaced the springs in 2007, cuz I was sending it back for the short trigger anyway. if its a quality mag/spring I think it should hold up well fully loaded for quite some time. if they get weak replace em.I had a leather worker make me a mag pouch for my shoulder rig that holds 3 mags to help even out the weight left to right, so I need 4 mags to stay balanced, but I rarely use that rig. bottom line the spring should lighten up a little with time, and may speed things along a little by leaving em fully loaded.
I do the same thing with my 45xd clips. Fill them up and leave them loaded for awhile will soften the spring a little.
i dont have the m&p .40, i do have a smith .40 and i leave mine loaded, had the gun for 4 or 5 years and the mags are always loaded and they always perform well.
