Ok , first off you need tell me what type of site ,
1 were you picked in the draw? if so then no one will be on that site when you get there, it is yours even if you don't leave anything on it,,
2 if you want to get a long term site from the board there , you need to get there on the 17th to get in line, to pick a site, then put your camper on the site and you are good to go for the g/g season(you must keep something on the site to keep it).
3 if you select a short term site for the weekend you pick the site and put something on it right then or you take the chance on looseing it.

Then you are golden you have the site weither or not you have your stuff on the site and if anyone is on it you can chase them off.
that site won't be on the board for someone to fill a card on it.
Now thats the way I see it is written
This will be my 1st trip out to GS. A couple of ?'s for the returning members so I know what to bring, I will be tent camping.
How primitive is the camping out there? I am used to having to bring everything with me and taking everyting out when I leave.
Is there a water source available?
Are open camp fires allowed, are there existing fire pits set up at each site?
Can you gather wood there or do you need to bring your own?
Do they have trash bins and what about cleaning/skinning location?
Are there any other pieces of advice you can think of that I need to know? Any advice is appreciated.
