I'm all for antler restrictions.

I'm also all for 16yr old and under getting a brown and down free pass.

But just because you are a "new hunter" shouldn't mean squat in my opinion....

Then everyone would haul their kid around and be a full time brown its down hunter

if we keep helping them with rules. we will rule ourselves right out of hunting.

it has worked well in many other states but will take some time. your not gonna change the entire states gene pool in a couple of seasons. secondly is the enforcement/poaching issue. I haven't deer hunted since moving here but wouldn't mind seeing some bigger bodied/racked animals and having hunters keep the $$ in FL instead of GA and Bama. for the kids, let them eat does. +1 for restrictions maybe even a 16" rule IF they increase doe harvest.

GOOD!! Then there would be more kids hunting! I don't have a problem with that one bit.

More kids in the woods hunting is good. Daddy taking them just to shoot what he wants is no different than it is now. Laws and rules just work for the honest guy. FWC cant be every where all the time. For the 16" rule I have shot a several bucks over 120" and none are over 15" wide. All I am trying to say is watch what you ask for.
