Well, I attempted to go with the Millet sights for my 94 lever in 30-30. I found that neither optic planet or millet were able to answer questions for fitting my rifle, it seems they are really moving away from stocking traditional iron sights. The set that I ordered were wrong. Based upon recommendations I got on here, I was looking for the rear white, orange blaze front which I think would of worked great. I decided to return them and pick up a set of Williams Fire Sights, dovetail style, fiber optic lighting. They fit like a glove and the front sight matched the height of my original so I decided to put the front hood back on. I think these match the originals in profile very well and the sight picture is alot better. I really like the fiber optics.

the rear sight has a hood also? hoods will protect the sights from being knocked around but my concern would be if they limit the sight picture/field of view. let us know after sighting in.

No hood for the rear. I was worried that putting the original hood on the front would stop the light from hitting the fiber optic but so far it works fine but I'm indoors. I have not taken it outside yet to field check.

You should be fine IMHO with the front hood installed.... I like it and now you have a killer AR to go with it... We are almost done with our AK WASR rebuild, all we need is paint and an Eotech yet. Another $600 and we are done with it...
