so true! I can be found dumpster diving in the garbage cans at the shooting range for ammo boxes, target dots, brass, etc. it's amazing what people throw away. as for guns, in the right hands most guns made CAN be accurate, how long they will last and keep tight groups is another story. the criteria of what makes a 'GOOD" gun for me is more things like looks, feel, balance, quality of wood (not plastic) and metal materials/parts, how they are polished and hand fitted together (if at all nowadays), wood to metal fit, smoothness of action and trigger, Quality control, and the knowledge and skill of the builder. some kid or housewife making minimum wage taking parts off an assembly line, slapping em together and shipping em out with little or no inspection or quality control doesn't inspire me.

I guess I need to start shooting Mossbergs and sell all my junk guns!

I might have some junk Leupold rings that will fit that rail, but they are cheap junk $80 rings. I might also have a one piece Leupold cheap junk $100 base too that might fit the model 7. Let me check.

Did you find anything in that box of parts you have over there?? I looked at the existing rail last night, it's the earlier model with the 3 screw configuration.

GB dibs on that pos takedown browning blr, or Beretta 20 ga. and TCR, that dnz mount for the marlin WILL NOT fit your mdl 7. they make them gun specific with exact contours to fit diff bbl and reciever shapes. look them up on dnz's site, but buy them from amazon for 15$ less and free shipping.

Was looking around on the web yesterday and came across some xtra low Tally scope mounts. Anybody out there using these? I am seeing some really good reviews on these as well.

No, I looked through my stash and I don't have any that would work for you man. Maybe one of the our expert gun guys would have a set of rings that would work on that rail? I could give you some user names to PM, they would know!

After this thread and my recent education on guns I think I am going to post all of my guns for sale on-line at $.30 on the dollar. I will be posting the list soon. I'm right around 70-80 pieces to get rid of.

That being said, I am in the market for a good quality Mossberg 500 Combo 12 Ga syntheitic stock pump shotgun, a Mossberg SSI rifle in .308 with 50mm Simmons scope, a Marlin Model 60 semi-auto .22 LR and a good quality Kel-Tec .380 for a carry gun. I should have all my bases covered then!

Keep your eyes on the look out for me, I appreciate it TCR!
