Well i'm torn, my girlfriend has given me the options between two rifles. A Mossberg 935 or a Marlin 1895 45-70. Along with that my brother has asked me if he got me a reloading press for Christmas would i use it (lee pro 1000, is that a good idea too?)
I'm leaning towards the 45-70, because I can make some good hand rolled rounds... What do you guys think?
Marlin 3030
Between the two, I would get the 45-70. I'd choose the lever action over a shotgun any day...
45-70. mossy's are cheap, and the resale value is not very good.
Do you already have a 12 gauge Shotgun? If so, I'd go with the 1895 .45-70.
If not, I'd have to go with the shotgun since it can kill anything the .45-70 can plus you can use it for every type of hunting, sport shooting (clays) and personal protection with interchangable barrels, stocks, scopes, etc.
I'm not a fan of Lee reloaders. I'd go with MEC reloader for shotgun and RCBS reloader for Rifle/Pistol calibers.
