Think of it as a learning experience, failure would be to quit. I hunted for 4 years before I killed a buck and almost 5 years of bow hunting before I connected. It will happen,I promise you.

Reminds me of my brother. I think he's killed more trees than Georgia Pacific! Don't know how many years he hunted archery season before finally killing a deer. I think a bear was the first thing he killed with his bow about 6 or 7 years ago, and by now he's gotten a couple of bucks. I have a bow but still haven't even gotten out during archery season, so I have all this to look forward too!

That's one dead pine tree! How did you hit the only tree in the clearing, there should be a shirt tail hanging off that arrow...lol

I'm sorry, I do feel your pain, but you're not a bow hunter until you miss um high, miss um low, hit a tree, and drop an arrow that hits every rung of the ladder while trying to take a deer.

I'm just waiting on the drop the arrow bit.. I don't doubt I'll do that some day! But I attached a picture of the clear cut area I was hunting .. Where a lot of the trail cam pics I posted cam from... The Doe was on the right side in front of the a frame post.. She was watching me the whole time she was wandering around.. I had no cover on top of a tripod stand. She thought it was strange so she started back towards the right tree line and crossed behind the tree to the right which is the one I hit... the second doe was actually in between the three pines in front... my impatients got the best of me and i should of waited a bit. After I shot and missed her I saw two white tail hit the air inside the woodline... figuring it was the other two of the three does we've been seeing but I'll never know now... IMPATIENTS NEVER KILLS!

I've got about that much time so far... and this looks to be the best oppurtunity yet... as long as I can be patient enough to wait for "bruiser" to show... Tempting part is being able to shoot a doe and having tags for does... lol...

I haven't gotten squat but with all the action I've seen in person and on camera... Its the best season yet and I've yet to shoot anything... sad I know.. but for all the bad press I've heard about bear creek... so far it's turning out really good compared to the hog heavens of perry... atleast for deer that is..
