There is an easier way to do it. You need a pencil torch from Harbor freight tools. You need to remove the fill valve from the torch, drill a hole in the bottom of a butane cylinder, insert the refill valve, and epoxy in. I made a couple and they work like a champ.
I was gonna make more, but I hardly ran my thermacell this past season. I just lit mine the first time Sunday since archery season

just pulling out the old brass part was a piece of cake, just needed a heavy needle to put a hole in the old cartidge and press back together. haven't tried to add butane yet, just hope it don't leak, or blow up. but I still need to find a source for pads only.

Well, NG, I'm guessing that if it blows up and ur on fire, skeeters are gonna be the last thing on ur mind.

Gonna be scannin the net to find the refillable ones now. Sounds like the next thing to find is the bulk packs of the pads.
