realisticly just about anything you put thru it should work unless the bullet construction is crap and youre shooting hyper velocity 3300 fps at something 25 yds away, it could potentialy just blow up on impact. after looking at my nosler manual they list 125 grain bullets to 200 grain bullets with velocities from 2400 fps ( heavy bullet and little amt of powder ) to 3400 fps ( light bullet and hot load ). you could realy do alot of different things with this round with handloading. the "best" all around load recomended in factory available is the 180 gr. if it were me I'd load 3 different rounds all with nosler partitions #1 a 150 gr at app 3300 fps for maximum distance for deer, #2 a 180 gr at app 3000 fps all purpose, and 3 a 200 grain lite on the powder to slow it down to 2400-2500fps for close shots on big/dangerous game for app 50 yds, and easier on the recoil. if you ever went for elk I'd go with a 200gr at 3000 fps, thats about as hot a load as you could get and the most recoil.

Well I finally went out behind the house today and fired my rifle and man I am I in love again. I only had a folding chair and a shooting stick but I was only trying to get it on paper. First shot was 6" low so I started walking it up My 4th shot was pretty centered at 25 yards so I backed it up to 50 and put another one dead center again. Tommorow I'll go to the range and fine tune it and take some 100 and 200 yard shots. I'm thinking 1" high at 100 yards or should I be at zero? I am planning on some long range shots when I go to Missouri this fall, maybe up to 300+. :skeet

1.5" high at 100 should put you just about dead on at 200 and 4-6" low at 300 +/- a RCH depending on bullet wt and velocity

How would that be at close ranges like 10 to 20 yards?
