How would that be at close ranges like 10 to 20 yards?HellBilly wrote:
carry another rifleX2, great weapon for out west, not much use in the Southeast. It would be a great Armadillo gun, if you want to watch them explode like a ballon at 50-200 yards. Anything over a 30/06 is over kill in the SE for deer and hogs. My two cents.
I wasn't meaning what would it do to the animal, prolly mot much different than if I hit it at 50 to 75 yards. I meant how would it hit? Would the zero be way off. Anyway I just got back from the range at Chaz and my last 3 shots were within 1" of center,my last shot was 1" high dead center at 100 yards. Now the .270 I sighted in was a dream,I was punching bully's on my 3'd shot at 25,then a few shots at 50 another bully, then at 100 yards it took me 6 rounds to get 1" high of dead center. BTW,there will be some hogs dying from the win. mag this year,I will post some pics.
Nacho is correct, just an inch or two high at 10-20 yards for a 200 yd zeroed gun. It 100 yds on a gun zeroed at 200yds it will probably be three to four inches high. These are estimates. It all depends on the bullets weight and amount of powder you are shooting. The gun will shoot differently with a 150 GR and 250 GR bullet. It sounds like you you have it working with the bullet you are using... Good luck.
