Just picked up a pair of irish setter snake boots from cabela's on clearance for $89 were $200 they are comfortable right outta the box, went scouting sunday for about 4hrs sweated my azz off and when I took them off my socks were still dry I was pretty surprised cause they have alot of insulation. But if this rain keeps up i'm going to have to get a new pair of hip waders, my spots were real wet during spring turkey but with all the rain i'll probably need a canoe.
Tim
I have the same exact snake boots. Had them 3 years and now water runs thru them like a tea pitcher. Water proofing lasted less than 1 season. Same as my Redheads(3 pairs), same as my Rocky's, and same as my $200 Lacrosse(I did get 4 years out of my Lacrosse's). Snake boot and water proof cannot be used in the same sentence, I am convinced...
I'm with ya there, especially on the Rocky snake boots. Mine didn't even last a season. I wore them twice the first season 2 years ago, and then I wore them most of last year. My feet stayed drier in my Timerland hiking boots than they did in the 100% waterproof boots from Rocky. I'm lookin into a set of hip waders that I can use to get thru the deep stuff, and a pair of those waterproof over-calf socks they advertise in the BPS catalog. I'll keep my snake boots, thank you. I don't like them legless critters at all, and I'd rather not find out how long it takes to die. I go too far back in the woods alone to worry about having to drag my half dead ars back out if I end up on the sharp end of the fangs.
I wore my Rocky's in the snow in Michigan the first season I had them and they kept me warm and dry for the first day or so.Went down hill from there.
Hey I got Sportsmans guide today, and they got the insulated ones on sale like I have
see if you can pm me the link man.. thanks.
