I was shooting a 7mm mag before the 243. I just got tired of the unnecessary kick it produced. With the 243 I don't flinch a bit and it's extremely accurate. Some rounds are just over kill for Florida deer.
I don't know about that,I've destroyed a lot of shoulders with my rifle.I really want to get another .270 for stand hunting in Ga.Bullets are easy to find,shoots flat. My old rifle is starting to wear out a little. I'll give it a what for this season then I may hang it up. Use a shotgun for doggin' and a .270 or 06 for still hunting.
