My Dad had me tagging along hunting and fishing since 5. We moved out of state and he quit hunting, after about ten years I'm just starting to get back into it.
No one really. My friend invited me out rabbit hunting in NM and started then. It branched off of survivalism. So this will be my first year hunting anything other than rabbits. Although my dad is the one that got me into guns, which really lead to everything else.
self taught , about 18 yrs old, then learned more each year
nobody in my family hunted and never fired a gun untill 18 y/o. started hunting small game for food/fun. read a lot of outdoor mags, Skeeter Skelton,Bill Jordan. several mentors along the way. still learn at least 1 new thing each time out and from newbies as well as seasoned hunters. most learning came from mistakes, many/many and products that didn't pan out. forums like this would have saved me countless time, effort and $.
