I got involved on my own when I was about 13 years old. I'm now 60 and I still learn more each time I go to the woods.
I learned everything from the Outddor Channel , LOL . Nah , 3rd generation of hunting in my blood . I was in the woods and swamps with my oldman since I was able to walk . My oldman mostly was a duck and dove hunter and the occational deer and hogs . We been always in the woods and water . Once I turned 18 I took it to a new level . I went after everything that flew , walked and swimmed . Now my boy is out most of my hunts with me and daughter is tagging along too . Nothin better than being with son and daughter in the woods .
my Dad and Uncles all hunted. I was the "gopher". but loved every minute. loved the smell of a just fired shotgun shell. And the reward at the end of the day was to shoot the shotgun. Been hunting since 6 years old. Damn, that's 60 years!!!

amen to that, my son was in the blind with me for my first turkey and my 4 yr old daughter was having a ball watching us clean my first archery buck, i think my kids being with me and enjoying and learning was more important and enjoyable than the actual harvest.
I'd have to say my cousin in ny I would go up for thanksgiving he'd take me out there. But I mainly went with my mom and I'm still learning how to hunt since I'm 16. Fl is so wierd to hunt my dad dosent live with us but he has prime.land in AL and put plots there he dosent hunt used to when he was a kid but always tells me to get my Mom to take me she does.
