If you have bears on your property, you are wasting time, money, and effort putting up tripod feeders. Do what you want, but as soon as a bear finds it, it will be a pretzel

There will probably be a special bear hunting season in the next 4-5 years, if not sooner. Check your FWC black bear management plans. I bet it will be a similar system to the gator permits.

Feeders do nothing but attract bears and hogs which is why I don't use them. They know a food source will be available there on a consistent basis and won't leave. I like to spread mine on the ground in a large area and the older deer seem to like it better than feeding while around a feeder.

Trust me, in no time you're gonna hate the bears. Any feeder on legs will be gone. The excitement will be gone in no time. I had to abandon a few spots due to the bears unless I wanted to sit and see only the bears. It sucks to see deer coming in and then turn around and haul azz cause there's a bear coming in looking for your corn or to rub on your tree.
