Very true rackman thats why you need to find the bedding area's and there main daytime browse patches these will be nearby.

ies easy up north.. when thres no scrup.. just hills and open fields with open area oaks.. down here. you can look for miles and just see palmattos and they are at just the height that you cannot see nothing for a mile.. there can be roads in the middle out there and you cant see it.. its harder to find bedding areas. Its to the poine where you can be walking and a hog cna be right down in the palmettos like a foot away and you will not see him due to the thick scrub.

Not sure what you hunted but my land u cant get much over a 20 to 40 yard shot at best u need to search to find their browse.I hunted in Florida a lot cr0ck 70% done in northern Florida the rest was down in the southern part of the state. But things have changed much since 1993!

Feeding times were in the middle of the day this weekend, I sat from 6-10, then back in the stand from 12-dark. Saw nothing all day. This morning the roads were littered with deer tracks. All done at night

Good point to why finding the bedding area's is so important deer donet need tons of time to feed in prime food area's.So when movement slows down because of pressure or climate they will head to their core spots that gives good cover browse and comfort from weather or pressure.Their travel route might be as small as 100 yards up to and over 1 mile so back trailing can have great benefits in finding food, browse and bedding area's.

I dont think the moon is the factor if they feed heavier or move more or less it is climate pressure and food sources they will follow. If hunting a beat up area with little to no daytime deer activity it is time for a change why wait for that one time when you can search out the best area.
