I killed a spike out there about 5 or 6 years ago. during black powder season. Lots of hogs there but never got one but buddies did.
i didnt know lake pann had a black powder hunt and that you could shoot spikes. 4 point or better and archery only? maybe your thinking of a diffrent wma
karlyk, Thanks you are right you made me go and look up the management area ,I was hunting in Jumper Creek WMA south end of Lake Panasoffkee . I was thinking after I read the other posts that the other members posted I was thinking they sure must have changed some rules because I didn't remember it being 4 points on one side and only archery. Jumper Creek gives out 100 permits for muzzeloader and legal deer is 5" antler one side. Thanks Again ! Man you guys know your stuff . That's why I joined this site.

Your from Palm Harbor (like me) and you hunt Jumper Creek? My hunt camp is about 200 yards down CR416 from the north check station/parking area. Been hunting in there for about 7 years now. Buddies have had the camp since '97
i live in the leesburg area, and i have never hunted Jumper Creek, is it any good? I hunt in Citrus alot, and Turkey hunt Richloam. any info for jumper creek would be appreciated. Thanks Karl
Jumper is ok. LOTS and LOTS of people because you can hunt every season in there without a quota except for muzzleload and the first nine days of gun. Theres some trails but not any roads like they have over in Citrus. If you want to hunt Jumper you cannot be afraid of doing lots of walking with waders on. You can find the areas that people arent at and hunt those. Buddy killed a nice 8pt that was about 165lbs outta there a few weeks ago. Honestly, the only reason we hunt there anymore is because our camp backs up to the WMA so we just walk in when we feel like getting a little bit of extra sleep.
If you live in Leesburg id stick with Citrus and also look into Halfmoon and Flying Eagle WMAs. They are both off of SR44 on the way to Citrus.
