no you are not supposed to leave them in the wmas. i dont steal. once they are left they are state property. have had my stands violated in green swamp during season, and by take i did not mean steal i meant sit in and use, which i have done. anyone who leaves there equipment in the woods after the season is over is a litterbug, and just plain lazy especially if they leave a climber. take it in, take it out. i have never seen as many burnt up rusted out stands as are in

i had 2 ladder stands stole out of the swamp this past hog dog season..had 2 stolen a few yrs back an found them again several hundred yards away with pad locks on them..i stamp my name an birthdate on the metal of my stands..shoulda seen the guys faces when i walked up with the warden..first thing asked,is this your stand,,yes sir,,then i show the guy my name on the stands..busted...a thief is a thief....

the guys said they were their stands an they had put them there but once they saw my evidence on them they couldnt say a word..they got court appearnce..dont know what actually happened after that..if you fellow hunters will get a metal stamper an start marking your stands with name an birthdate atleast then you as well as your friends can tell your stands if they get stolen or moved to another area..ive even put my drivers liscense number on them b4..no way a thief can talk his way out of it then if hes already tried admit its his stand..all my stands in the swamp have my mark somewhere on them an if they get moved or stolen an i find them,i will show up with the warden and i will press charges so stand thiefs in the swamp better beware......
