no problem man 😎 . I dont really know the procedures for military personal, sorry. i do know they have some military only areas, usually closer to the base and sensitive areas.
I'm not sure what site you checked, but at www.avonparkafr.com it will have numbers you can call for more info, some are just recordings of range staus for the week, but there is a number you can call and talk to someone, they can help you out.

That is goog to know. I am not sure if I have to pay the same fee, as I have an active duty ID. However, I had heard something about a class and an orientation but I was not sure what that was all about. I also heard that there was an area only for active duty and retirees (sp) but their web site is not very informative and noone that I work with hunts 😥 .

Thanks for the info

You have to apply in June and they do a lottery selection. If you get you have to go to orientation to get your vechile permit and hunting permit. I paid $275 for individual and it goes up from there for family. You can camp for free. They are usually open on Thursdays at noon and you have to be out by Monday at 8 p.m. I've been hunting there for 2 yrs now and have seen alot but haven't gotten any thing. It can get pretty crazy once general gun starts because then they allow the dogs. If you dont have dogs you can only hunt 1/2 the range. They say it's 168,000 acres but once they start closing for military opps. it gets small real quick. It's hard to find a spot where you are alone even though they claim 1 hunter to every 116 acres. Then of course you have the guys that just don't care if your in your stand and you let them know you're there they keep comming. I don't think I'm gonna renew next year. I'm just gonna go back to hunting wma's.
