does anyone frequent avon park. I am looking at heading out there but dont know anyone who has ever been.
Are you talking about the bombing range?, if you are you cant just "head out there" it is still an active military training grounds, and is permit only,,,,,,,,,,,, you have to apply one for the limited number of permits, usually around april, and i beleive the fee this year was around $250.00 or a lil more. If drawn and you purchase your permit, you still have to attend a mandatory safety meeting & orientation to the range, before you can even get your permit and access the base. I will say, its beautiful land, awesome hunting and worth the fee, . I have hunted there, (excepting last and this year) for the past 15 years or so,,,,and have to say it is my favorite place to hunt.

That is goog to know. I am not sure if I have to pay the same fee, as I have an active duty ID. However, I had heard something about a class and an orientation but I was not sure what that was all about. I also heard that there was an area only for active duty and retirees (sp) but their web site is not very informative and noone that I work with hunts 😥 .
