one of my favs. quarter a pheasant. little veg oil , salt and pepper. broil in oven until is starts to brown. take out of oven and place in a pan (with a lid) add 1-2 cups of apple cider. slice apples to cover all the meat. cover. low - med heat cook until done. So good it'll make you slap your grandma. Have tried it with quail also and is pretty good.

no. washington apples are really good. have tried grannys get alittle of that sour taste. but i like them apples anyways.
