My peppers are starting to produce pretty well. I threw the first pickings on the dehydrator last night, about supper time
This is what they looked like this morning. Dehydrated perfectly

I just crushed them with my fingers, and put them in a small container. This should go awesome on pizza, chili, or a big bowl of peas.

I left the seeds in for this trial batch. I've read they can taste bitter or rancid. We will see. When I make actual chili powder, I will de-seed them

Are you saving any for some pepper sauce? I tried my hand at it last year for the 1st time, my couple of bottles turned out pretty well but I only grew tobascos. Has anyone tried different types of peppers before to make pepper sauce?

10/4 I make a killer pepper sauce. I like to use wine bottles or liquor bottles. Just hot peppers of your choice(cut stem end off), add a couple garlic cloves. Stuff with peppers and fill with apple cider vinegar. Some folks like white vinegar. I made some last year with red wine vinegar and its killer also.

Can't eat beans or greens w/o my pepper sauce :nuke :nuke :nuke

I am getting ready to harvet my 1st batch of peppers this weekend. I do not have a dehydrator, can I dry these out in open air effectively or should I put them in a sealable container? I expect half will go towards some sauce but I would like to make some pepper flakes as well.
