Always consider the things that happen to you in life as a lesson. It looks like you did very well in Looziana, so fate (and Uncle Sam) decided to uproot you and put you over in the panhandle in the middle of your hunting season. Look at it this way; it gives you almost the entire year to prepare for next season in Florida and you'll have the lay of the land, animals patterned, stands placed, etc, etc.... See where I'm going?

Would never knock on WMA's :no . My first two weekends I was here i went to the Choctawatchee River. Saw a bunch of squirrells but thats about it. I dont suppose my fiberglass bass boat can get me in those spots you are talking about will they papa? And the only reason I dont like WMA's is because I dont know who is in the woods with me and if I am "legal". Public land to hunt on was hard to come by in LA

Some of the spots on the north end of the river between SR-20 and I-10 (and even further north) are accessible only by boat. I'd be a a little leary of a fiberglass boat, because there are a lot of dead-heads (stumps and trees) in the water. Wooden or metal boat is the way to go. It can get shallow in some spots too, which is why a jon boat would work best. Although, you could prolly get one of them SeaDoo jet boats up there if you are careful where you run and keep an eye open.
I got let off on the shore last year about 2 miles south of I-10 on the river, and while it took a bit of wrangling to get from the river to open land, the spot what smack tore up with hog and deer sign.
