Another place I see alot of hogs is by Lake Jesup heading N on the 417 over the bridge towards Sanford from Winter Springs. There is a huge track of land on the right hand side of the 417N which I always see hogs in. I have been trying to figure out who owes it and if we can get permission to hunt it, but have been unsuccessful. I spent an hour driving around that area and trying to get back in there and couldn't find a road that leads to it. I need to do some more investigating, scouting and driving back over that way. TRC and papaj would go carzy if the four of us could get hunting access to that piece of property because I am sure there are deer and more hogs than we could shoot in there. It's a hell of a track for Seminole county...

That whole area is part of the Lake Jessup Conservation Area, it is all owned by the SJWMD. Here is a link to the info and directions to get back in there. http://www.sjrwmd.com/recreationguide/lakejesup/index.html . You are not supposed to hunt there but during the fall I seen some hunters pulling up in a john boat with shotguns and walking that large flat on the east side right next to the bridge.

M12Gunboy - I also have wondered about that land by Lake Jesup. I was hoping it was private land and I would have a chance at hunting it. I agree private land would be best but I have yet to find anyone that was willing to allow bow hunting. I think its an insurance issue. I'm sure it helps to know someone that can put in a good word. I have also been looking anywhere around the Sanford Int airport.

Triple Creek Reaper -Thanks for the info on the conservation area. To bad that area is not open for hunting.

Thanks TCR, I spent the last couple days doing more research on the internet looking for ways in there and you are 100% correct, NO hunting. Damm. It has been my experience here in FL that they say insurance is the issue for not allowing hunting on private land. I would be willing to sign any kind of waiver if they would allow me hunting access to private land. IMHO, it's not insurance as much as it is the land owner looking for some additional coin$$$$$$. I have hunted private and public (both state and federal) land in five other states and never even been asked or told about insurance issues, requirements, or problems or been asked to sign a waiver. Private hunting land is just hard to come by in Orange and Seminole county, that's just the bottom line. I will keep looking for some though and keep ya'll posted. Great thread gents. I know of a large tract down near the Orlando Airport on Boggy Creek Road that I need to do some research on next...
