Make sure the cooler you buy has a good latch to hold the lid down, and preferably a screw-on drain cap.

these are two downfalls of the Coleman Xtreme 120qt i have....no latch and the drain cap isn't screw on

I think every cooler I own has some redneck jigger rigged latch system and replacement hinges. I manage to break both in a matter of no time

I just bought the Coleman Xtreme 120 qt and then came back home and read the last couple of replies.
Oh well, I hope I will be alright without the latch and screw-on drain.

Otherwise my dad will probably own the only S-class with wild hog on the backseat

Its all good, 300..You gotta figure a lot of us use our coolers every weekend. And when you factor in a kid or 2 opening and closing a cooler 500 times a day, the hinges are a bit prone to wearing out :dots

Here is a cooler tip:

If your plug ever breaks, or you lose it. Find a bolt in your junk drawer that is a bit smaller diameter than the opening of the drain. Wrap the bolt in electrical tape, with the tape tapering a bit thicker towards the head end. keep adding a layer of tape until you get a tight fit.

Use that for a drain plug, and I guarantee you it won't leak
