Hi Nacho and Sangster

Thanks for your suggestions. I just looked at the walmart website. Their cheapest 100-quart cooler is the igloo that Sports Authority carries as well. They are priced the same in the two stores. It looks like the Coleman is now 60.00. It might be a good deal to get that one instead as it is 120 quart instead of 100. I also found a Camelback hunting backpack at only 29.99 which I thought was a good price. I think I'll look around the next few days.

Make sure the cooler you buy has a good latch to hold the lid down, and preferably a screw-on drain cap.

Buy 1.3 gallon tuberwares freeze solid in deep freezer. 2 in a cooler will keep a 20 lb of chip ice from melting away over 2 days.( with in and out allot beerin cooler) Also if you camping chill everything you can before you put in you cooler. I like 150 quart coolers or 120s The marine grade coolers keep ice longer. By the way run the block under water a few seconed and the ice will pop out of the tuberware.

Hi guys

Great tips. I will only be going on a half-day hunt so I think I'll be okay. I probably wont be putting anything in the cooler on the way to the hunt. Maybe just buying ice in Okeechobee right before hunting time.

publix sells dry ice, it will really help keep the regular ice from melting
