You can kill them with a bb gun with a great shot. If your gonna hunt with a 22 mag just choose your shots. I've killed many with my 22 hornet. Head shot / neck shot at close range. Still I wouldent recomend it ,when they will allow you to use a shotgun why not use a shotgun?
the blunderbuss with the rifled bbl and scope is getting a little heavy for doing alot of walking. but I like the accuracy I get with slugs when i bucket hunt usualy 6:15- 8:30 or so and 4:30- 6:15, for still hunting,which I havent realy gotten the energy/stamina for yet I'll use 3" 00buck & mod choke. I used the 22mag tonite but only saw deer. I've been hearing of alot of guys losing hogs with buckshot, but I think alot of them are just shooting at moving shadows. took me a long time to learn if your not sure of the shot don't take it.
