did my good deed for the day. found a baby bird of prey of some type, hawk I guess, left it alone for a few hours, no mama coming back for it, had a wingspan of at least 14" and a mouth that could almost swallow a golf ball. must have been hungry, kept holding the mouth open for me to feed it. it had a white 3/4" trim around the base of a wide tail. carried it in my hat to the animal clinic in crystal river ( just north of the harley dealer ) and left it with them. they couldn,t identify it at the time. maybe good karma will come back to me. save a life in the am and take one ( hog ) in the pm.

no, no talons or sharp beak, just a big bird for a baby, and unusual markings, kinda like a grouse but wrong shape. none of them where im from
