Grounding issues can cause radiators and heater core to fail prematurely. I believe there is a way to test for that I just dont know how.

I hate paying someone to work on my vehicles after being screwed one time. I often wonder if it is worth it to buy the tools to do it myself. I also have to keep a spare for when I do have to work on something I have something to drive. The latest thing for me has been the ac in my wifes Suburban. Vehicles have a way of sucking a wallet dry.

my 2000 dodge small v8 81000 miles was losing oil pressure(according to gauge) while on extended trips, 60-70 miles. pull over, shut down 10 sec. and restart-fine another 30 miles till home. ran great around town. OIL SENSOR SWITCH. had it changed 4 times, 1st time cost me, all others no charge. sold that 2 mos ago. had a ford that was doing like crock and turned out to be fuel filters. sorry crock.

I got a 98 4x4 Montero Sport. That thing will go through any swamp and water over the hood. I paid $3000 for it with 72,000 miles. Other day driving to the lease at 400am I stop at Clewiston and noticed a ticking noise. Pull the dip stick and its dry. Add a quart and its dry. Another quart, dry. Another quart and finally its full. Ended up that I have a rear main seal leak. Small but still a leak I didn't know about. I was going 75 mph for an hour so who knows how long that thing was running on 1 quart of oil and it still worked. I was quoted $450 for the seal change which is the norm I think for a 4x4 truck. I'm now running 10-40 oil and the leak has stopped to a trickle. I was running 5-20 before. I'll probably get that seal done soon though!!! I love this little truck.

Guess it pays to do your own wrench turning, $500 for a $150 part? That's an hour job tops, I should be a mechanic!
