Well ive changed my shocks and struts. The backs are easy, jack up then replace. The fronts are in the spring and you will need a spring compressor ( i have one ). While you are taking the front shocks off id put a leveling kit in. its right there and its the same work to to it as the front shocks. why do double work. i went with a shock that has a additional 3 inch capacity to go up. i went 1.5 on the shock and 1.5 on the leveling kit. my truck it up 3 inches.
the antifreeze. MAN O MAN. you need special anti freeze for jap trucks. the stuff in autozone or for that matter the stuff the dealer puts in is NO GOOD. i do not know the name of the stuff but i know my mechanic is like a dam chemist and tests every fluid that comes out of my truck. he said it was definitly cheap anti freeze.
thats terrible. i have an 02 frontier going on 200k miles, and the only thing it has needed is tires, brakes, and the big maintenance at 105k miles. it is almost time for another 105k mile tune up, and the lil beast is ready for valve cover gaskets. i hope to get 200k more out of it, my fiancee drives it. The dodge i drive on the other hand is a pos, but keeps on truckin.
My gas mileage has dropped considerably in the past couple months. I realized one day I was putting gas in it more often. Last weekend I pulled a trailer to camp with a lawnmower on it. The rest of the tank was back and forth to the woods on hwy and a bit of woods riding. That tank I got just over 10mpg. I filled back up and checked it again after a mix of hwy and city driving. Got about 14.5mpg on that tank. I am thinking I may have a catalytic converter issue since a while back I had all those plug and coil issues. Thinking I may have build up in it
Oh man, I've got a 99 Dodge Sport with 84k miles yeah less that 100k but I've been having issues with it of and on for over a year. First the trans. would slip once and a while then would run fine for 3-4 days. Then one day in the middle of the woods the truck just shut off... nothing I had no clue pulled some wires and checked a few things and 20-30 minutes later it just cranked up. drove it for 3 weeks and it did it again, couple weeks again. I had it put on the computer and they said that it could be a couple of things. I changed the coil and a sensor and it ran fine for the last 3 months and last week it shut off with my daughter. who knows???
:saluting
My truck did that one day coming home from woods. Got on hwy from camp, went about 5 miles and shut off on me. It wouldn't re-crank so I called AAA to get towed to Cross city. After spending 45 minutes on phone trying to tell them where in the hell Jena, Fl was they had a wrecker on the way. I decided for giggles to try and crank it again...and it fired right up, but not running exactly ok. I called them back and cancelled the wrecker, and limped it home. Didn't even notice till about 1/2 way home my idiot light was on(I had a picture blocking it). ended up being a TPS (throttle positioning sensor)
