I have not been 200 for 20 years. I had a different 6 pack that got the girls back then. Now i use the the mind altering 6 pack.
a nutritionist gave me some good pointers: don't starve yourself it doesn't work, you can actually increase calories and lose wt by eating basically the same things but differently and at different times, limit portion size and eat smaller amounts more frequently, chew very well and eat slowly and stop before full, do not drink just before during or after eating, eat the worst food for you in the am you will burn it off during the day, do not eat right before bed, try to make your favorite foods healthier by switching oils (olive/canola are best for the moment), eat a lot of protein and drink a lot of water, throw away the salt shaker use it for cooking if really needed but not added to food, get back on your meds and a fish oil supplement probably couldn't hurt. you can turn your chol and trigs around pretty fast ( 3- months), avoid white anything sugar, flour, pasta, bread, salt, try to use whole grains whenever possible. the hardest part for me NO carbonated beverages, soda/beer- limit or eliminate as able. alcohol and high b/p go hand in hand so cut back as able and switch from beer to wine or hard stuff if you must. small easy to live with changes will last the longest and work over the long run. good luck.

Got to get back on track for the kid, get yourself healthy. I went in 4 years ago and all my #'s were bad except for blood pressure. I refused to go on medication so I tried the natural route, fish oil - Garlic- Red Yeast Rice & Vitamins. Started working out and exercising off and on and eating right. I did not want to have to take medication for the rest of my life like my grandmother. After 4 years I am sad to report that my cholesterol will not come down, my blood pressure is perfect, I am fit and have eaten better in the last 4 years than I have my entire life. My doctor told me sometimes its genetics and there is nothing you can do about it. I finally gave in and have been on medicine now for 2 weeks, I have a check up in another 4 weeks to see how everyting is working. All I could think about is being around for my boy later in life. I hope this does it.
Heredity is my issue. along with other things that are self inflicted
