I am right there with you Ted, my next lab visit is in 4 weeks to get a new set of #'s after being on the meds for the 1st time. I am going to layoff the booze and bad food and get exercising again as well. My goal is to drop 10 lbs and lower my cholesterol by a good 30% to 35%.

Really weird. I have had nothing to drink for 3 days now other than water and unsweetened tea. No beer. Also have eaten very lightly. No bread, rice, pasta, etc. No sugar, and very minimal salt on anything if at all. Just meat n veggies

This morning I got up and put my rings on, and they were very loose, and spun around on my fingers. Also felt like my britches were looser.

Your body will drop water weight quickly if you cut out alot of salt and the simple carbs (sugars). It's not all water weight you are losing though but it's easily noticable to me also back when I wore a wedding band. I guarantee you are losing fat with it also so keep it up.

One tip I can give from experience is try to not "shock" your body into losing the weight too quickly, as your body will think it's in starvation mode and convert from burning mostly fat and glycogen(carbs) to burning muscle.

exactly right. think of your metabolism as a fire that burns calories and food =wood. you want to keep that fire burning hot as possible so frequent small meals work best. in some cases you can increase caloric intake and loose wt faster if you take in mostly protien and cut back carbs and fat. plus PLENTY of water. also if your gonna cheat eat the worst foods for you earlier in the day (carbs/fat). chew very well, eat slower and stop before full and don't drink and eat at the same time, 1/2 hour before and after. a helpfull hint use a smaller plate it makes you feel your getting more and will help to establish portion control.
