See if there is a Coast Pump up your way, they will test your water and custom make you a filter to suit your wells needs. That is where we take all of our samples. the filters they supply are affordable as well. if someone is wanting to charge you $$ to test your water, they are taking you. test kits are fairly inexpensive if you were to buy one. we always just drop off samples and the guys tell us what we need, give us a price and we in turn give the customer an estimate. I don't believe we have ever charged someone to test their water. Someone on here that lives in the area that you are moving to should know a reputable plumber or well guy that isn't going to rip you off.

You shouldn't have to pay much if any at all. The thing to remember is that most people that will test your water will be trying to sell you watersoftener filters and other things that you really don't need. Just remember that hard water isn't bad water, it may take a little more soap the lather up or not as much water to get it rinsed off. My thoughts are just run the well for a couple of days and try it out. You'll be avle to smell it if it is sulfer run a 5 gallon bucket of water and let it set for a day to see if the rust settles. (White bucket) You won't get some parasite... Of course I'll eat anything.

Yeah, I don't know why you'd have too pay much at all for the testing. Up here, you take it to a FOR REAL lab. They don't sell anything other than test results...LOL.

I guess there's got to be some place like that down there. I'd avoid going through anyone trying to sell you something.

Bossman is right, most people will test your water for free so they can try to sell you a softener or aerator or filter system.
