Well....
The original man I posted this thread about is fine. He got out of hospital Wed and they never really determined what was causing his problems. So he went home. He has been up here at camp with me since Friday. He helped me drag my hog out last night
There is another friend of ours who the three of used to hunt together like every weekend. He has never been the kind to join a lease. He just hunts wma's a couple times a year and goes on whatever invite he can get

He asked us multiple times to take him to our lease. This weekend was a perfect time as me and John were going. We started calling him last weekend to invite him for this weekend. We didn't hear back from him, which is not unusual. Especially now since he has a GF that is about 20 years younger.

Well after multiple attempts our being pissed off turned into worry. After many voice mails and texts, no response
Tonight he finally answered.......

He had a large malignant tumor on his lung, which was found back in October. He told noone about it until like a week ago when he had to go for serious testing and finally told his daughter.
Long story short, he had his upper lobe of one lung removed for a malignant tumor. According to his dr's, it was a VERY agressive type, and if not caught as son as it was....would have been fatal within a few months. They say they got it all and he should be back to normal in no time. Ironically, this is his second bout with cancer. He had a tumor on his stomach 25 years ago and was removed successfully

Scary thing is it could have been caused by smoking, or by pesticides that caused it as he is a fellow bug man(we worked together for many years)

sorry to hear about it. and know how it feels. I made 2 hunting buddies cry when I came back to camp well after dark due to trailing a deer and no cell service to call them. your buddy with the fainting spells, arteries can be cleared and stents put in to hold em open but imo anesthesia can be as dangerous and cause more damage (premature aging and senility) than clots. am sure he's on coumadin or another blood thinner where you have to modify diet and monitor blood work frequently (and they do not remove existing clots, only hopefully prevent new ones). time for him to hunt from the ground or low platform. the big C, is the big B (biotch) and I believe it's in your dna or not and environmental things like smoking and pesticides only speed things up, or start the cells growing.
