smith and wessom, fairly priced? you haven't priced any of the revolvers recently, almost 40% more than autos. I gues autos cost alot less to make. I do think that S&W " currently" make the best double action revolvers out there since the old colt pythons and diamondbacks, went out of business.

I also have a hi-point .45, it is ugly and extremely heavy made out of pot metal and plastic but it shoots surprisingly well and for under $200 its worth it.

My oldest son is a former Marine and a LEO in West Virginia, so I take his opinion on firearms seriously. He told me that if anyone offered me a High Point, to run away as fast as possible! He says they are notorious for double feeding rounds, jamming, etc. They are cheap for a reason.

Not trying to start a fight or anything but I have one and have shot a few boxes threw mine and never had a problem. They are cheap and in no way am I trying to compare them to any other make of gun but for someone who does not have the money to buy a high dollar pistol or wants a gun to take out in the boat fishing or something its not a bad deal. Last I looked mossberg 500s are going for less than $200 while they are not a browning or bennelli they can still kill something stone dead just like the high point.
