As a kid did you take the Hunters Safety Course? If so that will work for the course, the rest is ID, fingerprints and paperwork.
I did take my hunter safety. I have my completion card. I am only 21 so I've been waitin forever to get a handgun.
I understand that the hurter's safety course and even military service counts toward your CCW but IMHO you need to take the concealed course.
You're missing out on so much information and we all know that maybe only half the people read the book.
Where and when and how you can carry, what you can and can't carry, etc, knowledge of penalties exacted for doing the littlest thing wrong while now in possession of a firearm, etc.
Yes I agree with you 100%. I believe everyone SHOULD have to take the course no matter what other class they've taken. I also think you should have to prove good ethics with a firearm, knowing how to handle and such. And also I think everyone should have to successfully fire the handguns.

Another thing...When you do start carrying, NEVER load your CCW with handloads when carrying it. Always use factory ammo. God forbid you ever have to use it, you will have to defend yourself in court. The victims lawyer will say you loaded them specifically to kill people
