They have definitely made it easier to get since I got mine. Going to the Tampa PD to get printed was a PIA, which is in the heart of downtown. The day I went, Jane Castor was giving a press brief on something

TPD was the only place in Tampa to get electronic prints done back then. I got my CWP in 90 calendar days from the time I put it in the mailbox. People after me waited over 6 months after the teleprompter in chief got elected

ditto, it must have gotten easier than when I got mine in Fla 04, you used to have to take the class no matter what (or at least thats what they told me) and that was the hardest most time consuming part. plus the permit is good in like 30 something other states and growing. when I was your age 1975 few if any states even had cc permits, some allowed open carry (New Hampshire, Vermont etc 1975), others like N.Y. you needed a permit (1984 9 months) just to own one and forget about carrying or concealing, good for target, home, hunting only. if all you need now is hunter safety it should be a piece of cake. although personaly I think cc age should be 21, "most people", not meaning you, arent mature enough to handle the responsability at any age.

Print your Hunter Safety Card Free Or take a CWP Class for $50-65
Go to your local Leo station and get digital prints $5
Passport Pictures $5-12
Fill out paperwork and get it notarized
Get a money order for $117
Ship it in and wait 4-8weeks!

* Make sure you follow the directions or you will wait a while and once you fix whatever you messed up your packet goes to the bottom of the pile.

All that said if you are near an office that does it go in and get it done!

Mine took less than 3weeks from the time i shipped it to the time i had my card in hand!

Lots of good info here. Guess it's time to get mine again. My last one was in Alaska and they are a thing of the past up there...everybody can carry any legally owned firearm concealed any time they want.
