They could do several things with new permits/tags/stamps to generate more money without increasing overhead, like a $30 Goliath grouper stamp, with a slot limit set to protect the breeders. Enforcement wouldn't take any more effort than what they do now to make sure people don't keep them.
Open a bear season with a draw for certain areas that have huntable populations. Do it like they do the gator hunts.
Open hog season year round on WMAs with a big hog population, and sell a separate hog stamp to allow folks to kill them all year.
Just those three would generate significant revenue and provide food and fun for thousands of sportsmen.
Ive been saying the same things for some time. Who do we need to tell it to so we can get something done? Last I checked this country was still at least somewhat of a democracy. If we organized and took these ideas to the law makers we may get something done.
