Help with id

watched a water turtle come up out of a pond...about 40 yrds, dig a hole, lay eggs and cover it back up. Then head back to the pond. That's why I asked...they get away from the pond so the big birds don't get em.

There r 3 holes I found. Two of them are about 4 inches deep one goes 10 inches. I stuck a yard stick in them so theey may turn and be deeper
