Well Thursday I went to work and got a nosebleed. I really didn't think much of it other than I hadn't had a nosebleed since I was a kid. After about 30 minutes it started to concern me. Especially the fact that I turned a beach towel red. One of my coworkers took me to the ER. Turns out my blood pressure was 220/160. Despite my protests of feeling fine they hooked me up to a million tubes and wires and admitted me. I wound up getting a CT scan and they found an abnormality in my brain. About 9pm (7 hours after being admitted) they told me I had to go to another hospital. I was ready to drive, but no such luck. I had to ride an ambulance. The most entertaining part of the ride though was the ambulance pulling over to let another ambulance pass. I get to the new hospital at 9:30 and lay in a tiny stretcher til 3am when they tell me they have no beds available and I have to wait til 10am for an actual bed.
At that point I leave against medical advice.
Got a nice few days off work though.
I went to the primary doctor today. I get an MRI on Friday.
Also I found out I am half blind and need glasses. I am a damn good shot, so I am excited to see how much better of a shot I will be with corrected vision.

they are gonna wait 4 more days to do an mri? did they get the b/p under control? you have some potentialy very serious issues. you are gonna need and hopefully get a whole lot more than an mri, the whole million dollar workup, being somewhere close to an OR and emergency care while being monitored would be my suggestion. I know first hand it's not fun, but there are a lot worse things than killing time on a stretcher watching tv with a pillow and blanket. and if you have insurance, going ama is an excuse for them not to pay. it's time to think of what is best for you in the long run, instead of a temporary inconvenience. best wishes.
