Good luck, I work for the local water dept. Do you currently have any lics. in water or waste water?

No, but it wasn't a requirement for the job or even mentioned in the listing when I applied. Do you work in the lab for them? I'm basically just trying to get insight as to what kind of testing they perform and see what I might not be familiar with so I can study up on it prior to the interview.

Last I heard from you, I thought you were getting a promotion at Nestle? Working at a booze plant sounds like right up my alley :tequila
Good luck

The promotion thing didn't pan out. I knocked out 2 of the 3 interviews but I struck the manager for the department as more of a "hand's on type" and he didn't feel I'd be happy or satisfied sitting at a desk 10-12 hours a day. Probably best I didn't get it, it was a 24/7 on call position and they have to be able to contact you. That doesn't mix well with hunting season.

They also kept screwing me around, switching me back and forth from nights to days because we were short staffed. They also kept taking advantage of me, making me do the microbiologist's job and my job in the same 12 hour shift. The microbiologists there make $3 more an hour than I was...yet I was consistently performing all of the duties of the microbiologist. A position opened up in the lab and I was told I do not qualify to be a microbiologist for them...then 2 hours later they asked me to come in on my day off and do microbiology. I just got sick of it.

No sorry I do not work in a lab. I am a slightly glorified ditch digger.

I also hate to say it but right now is the worst time to start a gooberment. No raises in sight and the benefits are not what everyone thinks they are.

i think my best friend's wife used to work for the City of Lakeland water treatment plant there off Lakeland Highlands and Edgewood.
I'll see what she knows. I think now-a-days she is one of the people running this group: http://www.le-ad.org/

If she has any info I'll get you her number, and see if she can give you a heads up on working at that job, or even some kind of recommendation.
