I usually just put my ball cap, or a hanky over it for the few minutes I'm there. if I'm not using a scope I usually don't use a sidearm.

You guys do what you want, I don't care. But you better not have a loaded gun in a check station. A concealed carry gun may be different. But I sat in the truck at GSW check station and watched the GW write tickets as fast as trucks were pulling up. Every ticket was for a loaded gun in the truck
