You should get a video camera you can mount to the handlebars (or a helmet cam) and record some of the rides. Riding through the mountains should be awesome, something you could watch over and over.

GoPro makes a few different models of camera you could use.

I've been thinking about getting a gopro with some mounts for the trip. Been thinking I might just buy a bike in Seattle and ride it back from N.D. I've been wanting to get another one for a while. It's gonna run me about $2000 for a rental so I might as well put that towards a bike.

My brother who lives up in VA recently bought a new HD Fatboy. He trailered it down here when they visited at Easter. Great looking bike. He tried to convince me that I should get one, but I've never ridden anything but ATVs and minibikes. Plus, I don't make the money he does! But if you know how to ride and have the $$, it sure looks like a great way to make a trip and some memories.
