I went to Silver springs last summer and asked what happened to the venomous snake show. The guy said the last handler got bit in the face and died by a rattler so they ended the show.I don't mess with rattle snakes any more but I'll kill every cottonmouth I come across. I hate them nasty sob's.

my dad has a picture of him and my uncles holding a live rattler between 6'6" and 7'. they use to eat rattlers on a regular basis. they would pour kerosene down gopher holes to get them out. my gramma who just died use to tell my brother and i she would never know what she would find when she opened the fridge or freezer. my uncle dale killed a big rattler while canoeing back from eggmont with his boyscout troop. it was making the swim from the island to the mainland.
