Ok here is the dillio.
The time has come that I have to get my mom into a motorized chair (hoveround). She has a really hard time getting around and she is just to the point that she needs something motorized.
Problem is this...
There is a step-up going from the garage into the house. There is a 3-step going down into the family room, which leads to her bedroom. I will need ramps built in both of those spots to accommodate the scooter.

What all is involved in building something, other that a sheet of plywood and some tap-con's.??

Anyone interested in helping a brotha out? I would rather hire someone from the forum to do it, rather than hire some bozo I don't know

Thanks
Allen

if you want to go strictly by code, the ramp has to be a certain length for the height you are going, so it can't be too steep. not sure of the exact specs or if they differ from place to place. if youre doing the whole building permit route I'm surre they will know.that three step drop inside is gonna be a toughie, it will either have to be real long, or have a turn ( if going by code ). btw the inventor of the hoveround chair Tom Cruise is an old junoior/senior hs buddy of mine, and also an RN, he had an idea one day, if the foot flatform on this chair were rounded off it'd be much easier to get thru the doors. invented and patented it and voila.

Dang I just burned a bunch of 2x4's let me look in the garage I think I have some more. Next time Carlos comes down he can grab them for you if you want them. Yup I still have 5 or 6 of them in like new condition. And a bunch of cut pieces that would be perfect for that. Let me know if you want them Allen.
