Hey guys thank you for your suggestions.
But Im looking for a bull barrel 16" M4 style upper with detachable carry handle.
And I remember when I was in Basic training in the Army, the m16s and m4s that we used were metal kind feeling lower receiver.
When I went to the gun store, some AR-15s they had were equipped with plastic feeling lower. And I didnt like them at all.
could you give me some suggestions on those receivers? how much more expansive compare to plastic ones?
How about when you know what you like and don't like, you add that info in when asking for advice? Would probably help avoid having things suggested that aren't what you're looking for. :rockon
My suggestion would be to maybe look at STAG ARs. Can get one complete for about $800.00 . Mil-spec 5.56 and lifetime warranty. The other would be Windham Armory. This is a new company started up by the original owner of Bushmaster. Makes a quality product.
My NV AR set up , i built. Using a Ruggio lower , DPMS trigger parts kit, Hogue grip, and a heavy barrel 20" Bushmaster upper. My daytime AR set-up is a flat top Stag. shoots great.
If you do peice one together, just try to stick with Mil-spec stuff. Chrome lined barrel and stuff like that. You will be much happier, especially if you are gonna shoot alot of cheap ammo.
nowadays the prices for complete ar's have come down alot, so building one isn't as much cheaper than it was a year or 2 ago.
there is lots of decent complete rifles for 600-800 range
i own a dpms and a armalite, both are great quality
check out cheaperthandirt.com, as long as they get the order sent out to the right address you can't find better prices for new anywhere.
These guys seem to have some good deals:
