Hey guys, I'm planning to buy an AR-15.
From what I've heard from people, I can save alot of money if I buy upper and lower separetly.
If I do that, which upper or lower should I get?
I'd like to get decent AR but not too low or high quality.
If you can recommend me which lower or upper to get with prices on them, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you guys

After putting together my own, I would build the lower and spend the $ on the upper. It is hard to beat the price of the Plum Crazy lower but if you want a milled/forged lower instead of polymer, you can build them for just a little more $.
Hey guys thank you for your suggestions.
But Im looking for a bull barrel 16" M4 style upper with detachable carry handle.
And I remember when I was in Basic training in the Army, the m16s and m4s that we used were metal kind feeling lower receiver.
When I went to the gun store, some AR-15s they had were equipped with plastic feeling lower. And I didnt like them at all.
could you give me some suggestions on those receivers? how much more expansive compare to plastic ones?
I've built two from parts. The metal lower you are asking about are forged aluminum.
I tried to stay with everything that was "mil" spec and M4 feed ramps.
Both were built on Spikes stripped lowers.
The first one I bought a complete upper from Palmetto State.
The second upper I built from parts and assembled the upper myself.
The first ar my 17 yr old assembled the lower with some help from me. It was a project gun for us guys. The second one was built because I couldn't get any trigger time because the kid wouldn't give it up!
If you have average mechanical skills, then you shouldn't have any problem doing a build.
