there are way too many reports/incidents on file plus rem's own memo's to blame them all on user error imo. but I've never had a problem with my mdl 7 other than a rediculously heavy 8+ pound trigger pull when first bought, guess my smith wasn't such a putz. after shortening the stock ,pachmayer recoil pad, smoothed action,lightened trigger pull and glass bedding groups shrank dramaticly.

guys with all been said just lets all be safe this is just a wake up call remember i can happen to anyone with any gun so just be safe this year

Outrunner13 is right on... Let's all be safe out there and we'll see how this whole Rem 700 fiasco develops and ends up....

i had a rem 700 30-06 that would fire sometimes when i took the safety off.scared the hell outa me so i got rid of it..loved the gun an killd lots of game with it but it was evil...........it happened 3 different times................
