I was with gunboy for the breaking in of his browning blr in 308 and saw some sub moa 1/2" groups at 100 yds from a lever gun with a 1.5x5 power scope! the gun and ammo were perfect winds low and he was on his game and in the zone, even hitting golf balls I glued to tees and placed at 100 yds. not just hitting the golf balls but the red spots I put on them, maybe 3/8". I've shot some good groups before with bolts and varmint rigs with large power scopes, but nothing even close with a lever. never thought it would've been possible, and store bought ammo as well. my best work of the day was with my muzleloader shooting 2-touching in the x ring at 100 with 100gr pyro, 2- pellets and 240 gr xtp's in TC's mag express sabots. and had to re-zero my 7mm08 ( first time in over 25 yr's ) with the same load I always use. also had to face the cold reality I now have to wear my glasses when shooting anything, ROYAL PIA! getting old sucks!
Wow! I guess I need to take him out shootin. Wouldn't want him to get too big for his britches.
I could'nt fit 1-leg in his britches. probably still buys them in the kids section.
Yep still buy them in the boys section and shoot like I did when I was 21 and a Buck SGT in the Army. That BLR shoots damm nice... I haven't shot my .243 Rem 700, .7MM-08 Rem 700, or my .25-06 Ruger 77 bolt guns at all this year. Everytime I go hunting the Browning BLR ends up in my hands... On my NYS hunt for two weeks I didn't even take one of my bolt guns, figure that out... I like shooting the 4" spinner plates at 200 yards with it and racking the lever for the next shot. Never thought it would shoot that well, even after spending $803.00 out the door for her. Who would have know she loves that 168 Grain Winchester Silver Tip just like my Rem 760 Carbine in .308....
I need to check the zero on my three center fire bolt guns one of these days and check them for accuracy again....
